While rudimentary erosion control products were in existence at the time that North American Green began its operations in 1985, the Company's entrance into the market fundamentally changed the entire industry. For example, North American Green was the first company in the industry to use accelerated photodegradable nettings, designed for use where vegetative growth can be achieved within a relatively short period of time.

North American Green's profound impact on the erosion control market can be demonstrated by the number of innovations in erosion control products and services that it has introduced, including:

1985		First to introduce pre-seeded blanket in North America. First to introduce Straw Coconut and 100% Coconut fiber blankets in North America.
1986		Introduced color-coded product bags. Introduced the SureLock Stapling device for product installation. First in industry to introduce product testing of erosion control blankets.
1989		Introduced the use of quick-degrading, photodegradable nettings for rolled erosion control products.
1990		Introduced first Erosion Control Plan – computer software design system. Re-released improved versions in 1993, 1995, 1998, 2000 and 2004. Introduced the first 100% recycled nylon fiber erosion control blanket, P 300.
1992		Introduced Performance Guarantee, a comprehensive materials replacement policy that covers replacement of any of the Company's products that fail to perform as specified.
1993		Introduced the industry to the benefits of Composite-Turf Reinforcement Mats with the release of C 350 C-TRM.
1994		Introduced 100% biodegradable blanket, Bio-Net® Series.
1995		Introduced bundled and compacted skids for shipping economies.
1997		Introduced 100% biodegradable staple, the Bio-Stake.
1999		Introduced DOT System® to expedite proper installation of its rolled erosion control products.
2001		Introduced Vmax³® products SC 250 and P 550, turf reinforcement mats.
2002		Introduced SedimentSTOP® Biodegradable Filtration System. Introduced its Ultimate Assurance Guarantee, the only comprehensive rolled erosion control product performance guarantee in the industry. Introduced the SureLock II®, the industry's only pneumatic powered, handheld stapler.
